A mobile operator in South Sudan has apologised to users countrywide over problems with airtime cards.

Many customers have been complaining that they were not able to recharge MTN airtime into their phones.

MTN contact supervisor Emmanuel Agustino told Bakhita Radio that the company was selling airtime cards marked in Sudanese pounds and they were not compatible with South Sudanese pounds.

He explained that MTN has already distributed South Sudanese Pound cards to its dealers.

Mr Agustino asked clients to check if the new cards they bought are marked in South Sudanese pounds.

He said they are identified with images related to South Sudan.

Mr Agustino asked dealers with SDG airtime cards to replace them by SSP ones.
