The governor of Eastern Equatoria State opened yesterday a two-day youth conference in Kapoeta South County.
The conference under the theme Peace, Solidarity and Development is attended by youths from Kapoeta East, North and South counties, Radio Emmanuel reported.Governor Louis Lobong Lojore appreciated the youth initiative of the three counties for getting organized and called for the conference to address their issues and bring them together.
He advised youths to play vital roles in the community and to work towards development.
Mr. Lobong encouraged the youths to organize themselves and attain academic titles before marriage.
The conference aims at coordinating all the youth activities in the three counties and beyond, voice out the plight of Toposa youths, including poverty and illiteracy, and find out possible solutions.
The conference targets the three mains areas of leadership, HIV AIDS and youth unemployment in Greater Kapoeta.
