The Catholic Archbishop of Juba lamented the tribal conflict in Pibor opposing Lou Nuer and Murle communities but said the situation can still be contained by the Government because God is in control of everything.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro expressed concern offer the escalating of violence between the Lou Nuer and Murle communities in Pibor County.

He said he and the people of South Sudan are sorry for the conflict involving Lou Nuer and Murle communities where most of the victims are innocent women and children.

He added that he did not understand the situation but he said God will solve it and the community will fix it.

Archbishop Lukudu made these comments during his homily at the New Year’s mass in St. Theresa’s Cathedral in Kator.
