TWO BORN, TWO DIE ON CHRISTMAS DAY IN TORIT

Eastern Equatoria State Hospital registered two babies born on Christmas Day while on the same day two people were killed in Torit.

The babies born on Christmas Day were both boys. Another five babies, two boys and three girls, were born on Monday, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Akwi Irene, a nurse on duty at the Hospital, told the press that a baby boy had delivered on Christmas Eve and two other girls were borne on Tuesday bringing to ten the total of babies born at the Torit Hospital during the festive season.

A man was shot dead during the Christmas celebration and another beaten to death by his stepson in Muruare residential area in Torit town.

The celebration of the first Christmas in independent South Sudan has been relatively peaceful in Eastern Equatoria with people dancing trans-night in residential areas of Torit town.
