Eastern Equatoria Legislative Assembly started Christmas’ recess yesterday after five months of continuous deliberations.

Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi announced the recess on Monday during the last session of the parliament, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He apologized for keeping the MPs for so long without recess, saying it was due to the issue of the Transitional Constitution.

Mr Ocholimoi said he reached the decision to call for the recess after consulting the state governor Louis Lobong Lojore.

The speaker urged the lawmakers to spend the Christmas recess period in their own constituencies.
