A 34-year old cyclist from Nepal on a world tour arrived in South Sudan three days ago through Uganda with a message of peace and environmental protection.
Speaking through a translator, Furtemba Sherpa told CRN News that he is cycling around the world to tell people to use bicycles instead of vehicles to reduce air pollution environmental degradation.Mr Furtemba said he did not see much pollution in South Sudan but said hygiene and sanitation are causes of concern although solutions like rubbish dumping sites can be found before the situation gets out of hand.
Mr Furtemba told the people of South Sudan to be proud of their new nation adding that the troubling tribes should come to the table and talk peace and his country people did.
South Sudan is the country number 77 Mr Furtemba visited and the sixth in Africa on his worldwide crusade for peace and good environment.
He has been cycling around the world since 2003 and he wants to visit 150 countries before 2020.
