Few men are turning up for HIV AIDS treatment in the three counties of Yei, Morobo and Lainya of Central Equatoria State.

South Sudan Aids Commission coordinator in Yei River County Chris Issa Gordon yesterday told Radio Easter that at the end of October out of 1,686 people on anti-retroviral treatment only 38 percent were men.

Mr Issa said that the report does not mean women are the only people living with HIV.

He explained that few men turn up for testing and treatment because of stigma while women when are sick they go for treatment because they are caregivers and think about life.

Mr Issa appealed to local leaders and government officials to encourage men to go for HIV AIDS testing and treatment.
