The Central Bank of South Sudan is set to monitor the activities of commercial banks operating in the country due to the high number of complaints raised by the public.
Governor Kornelio Koriom addressed yesterday afternoon a gathering of government ministers and directors of the national economy as well as the business leaders, Bakhita Radio reported.He said the work of commercial banks is South Sudan is raising many problems.
The governor added that the Central Bank many times does not get the right information to investigate the complaints immediately.
Governor Koriom said there are many complaints that commercial banks are not investing in the economy of South Sudan and are not lending money to the business community.
The Governor added that others complain that commercial banks operate in secret and do not inform the public about their products and services.
He appealed to the entire government stakeholders to address the issue of high commodity prices in the country.
