TONJ LAUNCHES POLIO CAMPAIGN

Tonj South County launched a four-day house to house immunization campaign against polio.

South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission Secretary Gordon Makuer said it was a duty for everybody in the county to take part in the polio campaign to make sure all the children under five years of age are vaccinated.

He added that the polio campaign is being carried out all over South Sudan.

Mr Makuer said the immunization of children against polio was one of the greatest achievements of CPA and that it has reduced polio cases significantly.

Tong South County’s Health Officer, Charles Malual, appreciated all the health personnel in the county for helping people, saying that God had chosen them to do the work with full commitment to achieve the campaign’s goal.

He reminded the vaccinators to give two drops to each child adding that babies born last night can receive the vaccine too.

The 4-day polio campaign launch was attended by local health partners’ representatives in the county.
