Officers from the local government graduated today in Yei after completing a three-month training programme.
Ciliyon Lemeri George, who directed the training, told Radio Easter that the instruction aimed at preparing officials and to introduce them to the running of local government.He added that the trainees belonged to CANS, the Civil Authorities’ Officials for New Sudan.
The trainees go for a four-month field work to assess how much they learned from the exercise.
The acting director for the ministry for Local Government in Central Equatoria, Peter Tungunu Swaka, said the training was the first major tuition in administration.
He added that after two years the ministry will train the officials on council management.
The graduation ceremony that took place in Yei Crop Training Centre this morning was attended by over 100 people.
