The national Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports arrived today from France where he attended the UNESCO annual meeting and South Sudan’s admission to the UN educational, scientific and cultural organization.
Cirino Hiteng Ofuho told the press at Juba International Airport that South Sudan was officially admitted on October 29 as UNESCO’s member number 194 in an emotional and ceremonious event.He added he met with a number of officials who displayed good will towards South Sudan.
Mr Cirino said UNESCO will assist South Sudan to document its history and build cultural centres.
