Hundreds of Catholic faithful turned up yesterday to commemorate All Souls Day at the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral cemetery in Torit.

Vicar general Celestino Muras, who presided over the mass, told the congregation at the cemetery that they were among faithful departed representing millions who had gone ahead.

He added that the cemetery represents brothers, sisters and parents in need of special commemoration.

Fr. Muras said the cemetery is only a sign of the remains of the deceased since their souls have gone to the Father.

He added that other souls that have not gained the favour of God are in Purgatory and need prayers for purification.
