A young country like South Sudan needs good statistics in order to develop and grow.
This was the message Norwegian facilitator Dag Roll Hansen left with the participants at a three-day workshop organized by National Bureau of Statistics in Yei River County to build the capacity of their human resources, Easter Radio reported.He praised the participants for their motivation to build competence and skills.
Mr. Hansen said the statistics officials face many challenges, including lack of resources and skills.
Sara Poni Subandrio from Rumbek’s sub office promised on behalf of the participants to take home what they learned in Yei.
She praised Yei as the coolest part of the country, a city that underwent great growth in the past five years.
The workshop was attended by over 40 participants, inclining the Deputy Chairperson for National Bureau of Statistics in South Sudan, John Macick Acuoth.
