Yei town is being hit by a suspected measles outbreak.
Yei River County health training officer Michael Lugala Nicholas told Radio Easter this morning that samples from seven children confirmed the outbreak of the disease in the county.He said the samples were sent to Juba for testing and the results were positive for measles.
Mr. Lugala asked community health workers in all the five payams of Yei River County to report any suspected case of measles to the county health department so that action can be taken, including vaccinations.
Mr. Lugala appealed to the communities to always seek attention of medical personnel from any health facility before patients’ health conditions deteriorate.
