The ambassador of Germany to South Sudan visited Yei to evaluate the water distribution in the town, a project that was implemented by the German GIZ organization.
Peter Feltan said he was impressed with Yei which he described a busy, lively town with a big market, Easter Radio reported.
He added that Yei is a fertile land that will surely profit from the independence of South Sudan which provides the framework for the development of the area.
Ambassador Feltan said there are some discussions going on in Juba between the Yei administration and the ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation to extend the water system so that more people can get good quality water and sanitation in Yei.
He appealed to the Water Corporation to distribute water to the entire town.
Ambassador Feltan was accompanied by the minister for water resources and irrigation.
