Released members of the Open Parliament pressure group have vowed to continue fighting against what they call injustices and poor governance in the government of Lakes State.
The youth were put behind bars for about two weeks for allegedly making defamatory comments against the government. They say they are ready to continue speaking out against poor administration and management of public resources in the state.
One of the youths released on Tuesday, Puondak Benjamin Magok, told Good News Radio yesterday that the main aim of the pressure group is to see that the governor changes his ways or he is changed.
Mr. Puondak said the seven youths were detained for more than a week without trial.
He said he found people detained for minor offenses who are languishing in jail for a long period without trial.
Mr. Puondak advised the government and the Police to review judicial processes in order to avoid chaos at the jails.
The government of Eng. Chol Tong Mayay has been under pressure especially from the youth for alleged corruption, nepotism and increasing rate of unemployment.
