The Sudan Armed Forces attacked and looted a small village in Diling, South Kordofan State.

Heiban SPLM chairman Younan Al-Barut said that the SAF soldiers attacked the civilians in the village of Al-Freshia, looted cattle and mobile telephones and burnt houses and some 200 sacks of dura.

Mr. Al-Barut said the attackers were from Abu Tera and the Popular Defence Forces.

He added that they displaced some 200 civilians who took refuge in the mountains.

The conflict opposing Khartoum troops to forces loyal to the SPLM-North in South Kordofan started in June and the civilian population is the main victim of the fighting that has also spilled over to neighbouring Blue Nile.
