G7 Plus member states want donors to give money to governments’ immediate crucial priorities rather than dictating where the funds should go.

This comment was made by Timor Leste’s Prime Minister during his address to the developmental agencies at the World Bank yesterday in Juba.

Xanana Gusm√¢‚Ǩ¬πo told donors that they should consider each country’s priorities and help governments to achieve what they say is crucial

National finance minister Kosti Manibe Ngai said South Sudan needs help, but it wants to be in charge as it learns from the donors, friends and well wishes.

The G7 Plus is made up of 17 countries including South Sudan, and they are known as the world fragile states because they are characterised by insecurity and political instability.
