A recently held peace conference in Bor explored ways to end the conflict between Lou Nuer and Murle in Jonglei State.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul told SCR News that the conference brought together MPs from the National and the State assemblies and the government of Jonglei state.

He said it was important for both state and national MPs to dialogue and find ways to resolve the issues.

Archbishop Deng added that the conference came up with resolutions that need to be implemented on the ground and formed a tripartite committee to monitor the implementation of the resolutions.

He said the committee is made of up of both state and national assemblies.

He added the church will be meeting the Lou Nuer and Murle communities and ask each community to organise what he called concurrent conferences where they identify their grievances against each other.

The Archbishop urged all South Sudanese to use dialogue as a mean to sort out grievances.

He noted that the tribal conflicts should not be used to destroy independent South Sudan.
