CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE TORIT BISHOP RECOVERY

Over a thousand Christians turned up yesterday to celebrate and offer thanksgiving prayers for the recovery of the Catholic Bishop of Torit after one year of medical treatment abroad.

The thanksgiving mass at Our Lady of Assumption parish Church was marked with joyous chanting and singing from Christian within the state and from Juba.

Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek thanked the people for their prayers that kept him alive.

Bishop Akio shared with the congregation about his sickness and the process of treatment.

He asked citizens to unite and work together to develop the new nation saying that since freedom has been achieved now there is need of a healing process through peace and reconciliation among the people.

The Bishop appealed to the State authorities to always scrutinize private owned clinics for better services delivery to the people.

Bishop Akio thanked the church and the government for their kind contributions towards his healing.
