Foreign investors need a good environment to operate in South Sudan and the government should provide protection through laws regulating their activities.

Georges Chebat, who heads a Djibouti investment group, told SCR News that there are huge opportunities in South Sudan but the government has to guarantee protection to foreign investors.

He said protection is first step to make business flourish in the new country.

Mr. Chebat said the government should put in place laws that give investors the right to move freely their capitals in and out and regulate the relations with the local labour force.

Mr Chebat was speaking at the South Sudan Investment Conference and Trade Fair that started on Thursday in Juba and concludes tomorrow.
