A senior member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement has disclosed the reasons that led her to join the party.
Anne Itto Leonardo, SPLM Deputy Secretary General, said she joined the liberation movement while lecturing at Juba University in Khartoum because her children were being humiliated at school.She added that she was angered by the celebrations of northerners whenever they won a battle against the SPLA.
Dr. Itto said it was time to reflect on the decision why she joined the SPLM 17 years ago and on her life in the bush, as deputy secretary general and minister.
The SPLM official was speaking at Bakhita Radio’s daily program Wake up Juba.
