More than 900 families affected by flood last month in Torit have finally received non food items from South Sudan Red Cross.
Deputy Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission John Odongi Simon told Radio Emmanuel that the Red Cross has responded positively by giving out the non food items to affected people in Ilangi Boma.He said the distribution took place on the 3rd and 4th of this month.
Mr. Odongi explained that areas mostly affected were Ilangi Boma, Foto-foto, Hai Korton and Morwari, where more than 900 people were affected out of total population of more than 5,800.
Mr. Odongi says more assistance to the flood victims is expected from other humanitarian agencies operating in the state.
