Rumbek Central collected more than 400 riffles from the on-going disarmament exercise, the County Commissioner said.
Talking to SCR news, Matul Majok Magol said 107 riffles were collected in Amongpiny Payam, 105 from Mayom, 94 from Malek, 59 from Matangai and 53 from Jiir Payams.He also described the exercise as peaceful adding that a certificate was issued to each youth that handed over their riffles.
Mr. Majok mentioned that investigations of the origin of the weapon are made during the disarmament exercise.
He added that all the collected riffles have been stored away from the civilians.
Mr Majok said more riffles are expected to be collected after forceful disarmament beg an yesterday.
