Eastern Equatoria MPs have approved the policy statement for the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
The Assembly, presided over by Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi, passed the policy statement yesterday with some amendments.The policy statement was prepared by minister Clement Chichim Laku.
The committee of Humanitarian Affairs revised the statement and presented a number of observations, findings and recommendations, including links with other line ministries, establishment of departments at counties and continued support to returnees.
MPs recommended to the ministry to prepare a NGO Act to guide operations of aid organizations.
