The Government of South Sudan did not agree yet on the methods to absorb civil servants returning from Sudan into the national service.
Two weeks ago, the Council of Ministers decided to integrate all South Sudanese civil servants who lost their jobs in Sudan.Eastern Equatoria minister of Public Service and Human Development, Emilio William Odingila, said the national government is considering the best ways to absorb returnee workforce, Emmanuel Radio reported.
Mr. Odingila said the exercise to absorb the returnee civil servants was suspended pending the formation of a taskforce comprising of national executive and state ministers of labour.
The terms of reference for the taskforce will includes screening the returnee and scrutinizing relevant documents.
Mr. Odingila noted that there are doubts about the large number of 10 thousand returnee senior civil servants on a list presented to the Government of South Sudan.
Records from the ministry of labour at national government indicate that thousands of senior civil servants have returned from Sudan pending absorption into the workforce of the republic.
