An official from Lakes State has come out to the defence of South Sudan Employees Justice Chamber, clarifying that his organization has no history of corruption.
Joseph Akot Mabor, Director of Employees Justice Chamber for Lakes State Affairs, made the statement following a report on The Citizen newspaper about corruption allegations involving the Director of Public Grievance Chamber.He told Good News Radio that the content of the newspaper story had been misunderstood by the public both in Juba and in Rumbek.
Mr. AKot added that claims of corruption within the Employees Justice Chamber are unfounded, ambiguous, and a defamation to his organization which is innocent.
He stated that Employees Justice Chamber has no history of corruption at national or state level.
Mr. Akot said that his organization has the function of correcting other government institutions.
He clarified that the person implicated in the corruption charges reported by The Citizen Newspaper was the Chairperson of Public Grievance Chamber, reiterating that the head of Employees Justice Chamber is going about his usual responsibilities of the Commission.
Mr. Akot was commenting in a story published by The Citizen on September 13, 2011, titled “Grievances Chamber takes its own Grievances to Vice President.”
