Private schools have been urged to support the government in its fight against illiteracy in South Sudan.
Sebit Lomoro Gaye, from the Education Ministry of Central Equatoria, told Easter Radio that private schools over the years have been playing a good role in the provision of education to the community.He added that private schools should work collectively with government schools to curb illiteracy.
Mr. Lomoro appealed to all private schools to operate with adequate facilities such as ground, good structures and qualified teachers.
The acting director of planning and budgeting in the ministry of Education in Central Equatoria Amule Felix applauded the citizens of Yei for the love to educate their children.
She added that Yei county population has great ambition to learn.
