The minister of Internal Affairs announced today the restructuration the police services in order to meet the expectations of the people of south Sudan.

Alison Manani Magaya told state commissioners of police this morning in Juba that the process would begin from the ministry up to all police centres and units in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.

He added that his office would review the Police Act of 2009 in order to shape it to the new reality of South Sudan.

Mr. Magaya explained that the new administration would evaluate and retrain the police force to meet professional standards.

He revealed that he is also reviewing the financial management of the police and improve salaries within the force.

The police commissioners are gathered in Juba to present reports on their performance for the last term of duty in their various states and units.
