The Sudanese authorities are preparing to table a debate on the situation in Blue Nile state at the National Assembly in Khartoum.
Sudan’s information minister Sanaa Hamad told the press in Damazin that the situation in Blue Nile capital is relatively calm and people are resuming their normal lives, Bakhita Radio reported.She added that Damazin is completely under the control of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF).
Ms. Hamad explained that the situation in the Blue Nile was a time bomb the government of Sudan had to deal with.
She said the government would discuss the situation in Blue Nile in the National Assembly very soon.
War erupted in Blue Nile state last week between SAF and forces loyal to the SPLM-North, displacing over 20 thousand people to Ethiopia.
President Omar Al-Bashir appointed General Yaha Mohammed Kheir to lead the state to replace elected governor Malik Agar.
