An official from Wunduruba Payam, Central Equatoria, has denied allegations that it has wage hostilities against people from Lainya County.
Two weeks ago people from Wunduruba payam were reported to have attacked Moje Boma residents together with some police because they want to belong to Lainya County instead of Juba.More than 2,300 people were displaced by the incident.
Wunduruba Payam Coordinator Officer Luka Lukudu Kenyi told Bakhita Radio that nobody from Wunduruba went to Moje to beat people up.
He said what happened was local people beat up travellers leaving and coming into Lainya from Wunduruba.
Mr. Lukudu said Wunduruba will sue the administration of Lainya County for spreading false information.
He added that Chief Gordon Sasa of Wundurba is like any other chief in South Sudan: he does not have any army to command in order to vacate pro-Lainya population from Moje.
The National Assembly intended to send yesterday a team of MPs on a fact finding mission to meet the Moje IDPs but the trip was postponed for next week.
