A Nuba Mountains development organization has warned of food scarcity in the region that puts many lives at risk.
About 121,000 people were displaced by the fighting in Nuba Mountains and most are in dire need of food aid.A food security officer asked NGOs to assist the displaced with food and introduce quick crops in the region.
The official said that among the 121,000 IDPs only 55,000 got some food aid, but not enough for their needs.
He explained that the food they have to distribute is in Kauda and NGOs are not able to reach the needy communities.
He said the entire community are likely to face a big challenge of food shortage in the future if the security situation gets worse.
