China’s foreign minister has visited South Sudan today in a bid to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Yang Jiechi told the press upon his arrival in Juba that his visit will boost friendship and cooperation between both countries.He noted that he would hold intensified discussions with his hosts despite of his short stay in Juba.
Mr. Yang met separately with foreign minister Deng Alor and President Salva Kiir Mayardit before he left for Khartoum this afternoon.
The visit marked China’s 40 years of presence in South Sudan.
