An international humanitarian agency is assisting thousands of people who are being displaced by the war in Southern Kordofan and sought refuge in Nuba Mountains.
Save the Children – Sweden Program Manager Kandil Khalil said his organization is assisting war victims especially those who are homeless and have no food.Mr. Khalil said there are some 27,000 IDPs in Heiban, Dalami and Um Darain, in Nuba Mountains.
He added that the process of daily distribution of food has already started with the WFP’s help.
He said Save the Children teams remain in place to register new IDPs and assist them.
Mr. Khalil urged people to keep on looking after their gardens although the fight is still going on in order to avoid hunger.
