A three-member delegation arrived in Yei from Juba to review aid activities in the catholic diocese.
Caritas Internationalis Coordinator in South Sudan Ilse Simma told Easter Radio that she was impressed to be in Yei for the first time to review what Caritas, the catholic aid agency, has been doing for the last six months.
She added that the team reviewed emergency, food security and relief programmes put in place by the diocese together with Cafod.
Ms. Simma praised Yei and its people.
She said her delegation would return to Yei to continue supporting aid programmes.
Ms. Simma said that she was very happy to have the opportunity to share in the celebration of the independence of South Sudan which is due in 14 days.
