Christian Churches and the Muslim Council in Juba are organizing a Reconciliation Day in preparation for the Independence of South Sudan.
The interfaith service brings together in prayer Christian and Muslim communities in Juba in Juba’s Zahara Squre from 9 AM up to 5 PM.Speaking to Bakhita Radio, Fr. Nicholas Kiri from the organizing community said the Reconciliation Day is part of the Pastoral Program of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba to prepare for the independence of South Sudan.
Deacon Gideon Kenyi from the Sudan Pentecostal Churches called upon the people in Juba to attend the prayer of praise to God for the gift of a new country.
Deacon Kenya said the day marks a peaceful preparation for the celebrations of the new nation of the Republic of south Sudan.
He added that peace and love and unity come through reconciliation.
The Reconciliation Day program includes songs, inputs from preachers from the Christian and Muslim communities and prayers.
