The Upper Nile state deputy speaker has submitted a resignation letter after the SPLM asked him to quit the position.
Stephen Pal Kun presented his resignation to the House on Monday, Voice of Love FM reported.He told MPs that he resigned because some of his comrades from the SPLM have asked him to give up the position.
Mr. Pal said he accepted to step down as deputy speaker due to his commitment, loyalty and respect to the party.
Mr. Pal tasked the members of the legislative assembly to accept his resignation.
He then announced the position vacant.
In the same sitting, Siko Lam Jiech resigned from the position of assembly controller in the assembly.
Mr. Siko promised to remain in the SPLM.
