The National Anthem for the Republic of South Sudan is in its final stage of practices before Independence involving the President and the Council of Ministers.
Rose Mary Kaku is a member of the National Anthem Choir. She told Bakhita Radio yesterday during a practice with the SPLA band that the anthem reflects the suffering southerners underwent in the last 50 years of civil conflict. She added that the hymn sings the dignity of the people of South Sudan.
Ms. Kaku explained that two teams were sent to Western and Eastern Equatoria to teach the National Anthem to the locals.
She said the Juba team was moving to the ministries to teach the anthem.
Ms. Kaku added that the president and his cabinet would also learn the hymn.
Ms. Kaku revealed that it was easy to learn the anthem despite some changes in the lyrics because most Southerners like singing and are poets.
The National Anthem Choir and its band will hold tomorrow the first public singing practice of the national hymn in Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba at 1 PM.
