The mayor of Juba City Council yesterday paid a visit to a water bottling company to inspect the quality of the product and the conditions of the plant after his office received a complaint.
Two month ago an individual brought a sealed bottle of JIT water with dirt to the Mayor’s office, Bakhita Radio reported.Mayor Mohammed El-Haj Baballa said the City Council was investigating the matter to issue a decision on the company’s fate.
He added that investigations disclosed that the complainant wanted to sabotage JIT’s image for business purposes.
JIT Group chairman Nafit Pattel who came from Nairobi for the inspection said he was very happy with the Mayor’s visit because it will give positive image to the company’s products.
Mr. Pattell urged the Mayor to inspect the plant at no notice saying JIT has got no objections to his visits.
JIT Water Company is the first bottling company established in South Sudan after 2005.
It produces 2500 cartons of water per day since 2006.
