The South Sudan Aids Commission ended yesterday evening a training session on HIV Aids and its situation in South Sudan.
South Sudan Aids Commission Director Joel Dumba Chrispo said that out of the 31 government and church officials who were at the workshop only five had previously attended HIV Aids training, Easter Radio reported.Yei Catholic Diocese pastoral coordinator Fr. Faustino Lumori said the training gave him enough knowledge about HIV Aids.
He added that the pandemic is real and it needs much attention from all departments in the county.
Fr. Lumori said he will pass to the information to the youth by mobilizing them right from parish level.
Yei County information commissioner Ephraim Jomo urged the South Sudan Aids Commission to conduct the same workshop over the radio.
He added that many people like to listen to radio programmes and the broadcast would benefit people in the rural areas.
The 31 participants accepted to pass the knowledge to the departments they came from moved by the testimonial of Adeirei Doreen.
She said she is the only person left in her family due to the HIV and AIDS.
