Central Equatoria Aids Commission concluded yesterday a two-day workshop for government officials on Aids prevention with a call for voluntary testing.

Joel Dumba Krispo, who heads the Central Equatoria Aids Commission, told Bakhita Radio that the workshop was important to inform government officials about the HIV and Aids reality.

He said the trained officials should pass the information on and encourage the public to go for voluntary testing and counselling to prevent the pandemic to spread.

Mr. Dumba urged citizens to test for HIV and Aids to know their status.

He said infected people should be treated with all the fundamental rights and without any form of discrimination.

The workshop drew 50 participants from various ministries.

The event is to be repeated at various counties of Central Equatoria state after South Sudan independence celebrations.
