The Catholic Archbishop of Juba Saturday inaugurated St. Vincent de Paul Basic School in Gumbo.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro told the attendants at his opening prayers that there was a need for the people to asked God for his blessing upon the new school.He said it was God’s blessing that provided the community with the new school to educate the children.
Sister Roberta Tomasi, provincial superior of the Salesian Sisters of Ethiopia and Sudan, encouraged the pupils to commit themselves to education and build the new nation.
She urged the young people to be good citizens and love their countr.
Sister Roberta added that young generation of South Sudan needs to work hard because of the trust put on them.
The new St. Vincent de Paul Basic School wsa built in the Catholic Parish of Gumbo and it is run by the Salesian Sisters.
The building has twelve classrooms and all necessary offices and supporting buildings.
It cost 650 thousand US Dollars.
The Salesian Community plan to build a secondary and technical schools and a new church in the parish.
