Eastern Equatoria Governor has called on the communities to use peaceful means to settle land problems to avoid scaring investors away.

Louis Lobong Lojore made the appeal Friday while settling a land dispute between Nyong and Imurok Payams of Torit County.

The governor remarked that land was more valuable in Torit than in the rural counties.

Mr. Lobong urged Torit residents to take advantage and allocate land to the government for investment.

He said traditional importance areas should be honoured and agriculture land be protected.

Community leaders from Nyong and Imurok Payams convened at Hotel Torit to resolve a land issue over the area of FotuÐmafi.

Over two hundred participants, including government ministers, members of the state Legislative Assembly and state government advisors, attended the five-hour meeting.
