Eastern Equatoria security forces carried Justice and Peace operations in nine villages of Torit and Lafon-Lopa counties to recovered stolen animals, guns and arrest suspects involved in crimes.
Acting police commissioner Colonel Ben Banal told Emmanuel Radio that a joint force of police and SPLA soldiers raided nine villages, including Haforere, Tirangore, Chalamini, Mura-hatiha, Iloli and Malangit.Col. Banal said the Justice and Peace operations arrested six criminals and recovered ten guns, 245 heads of cattle and three goats.
He says the recovered property was given back to the owners who accompanied the security forces to identify their animals.
Col. Banal added that the Justice and Peace operations will move to the other counties of Eastern Equatoria after concluding with the villages of Torit and Lafon-Lopa.
Col. Banal commended the communities for their cooperation with the security forces helping to identify the suspects.
The Justice and Peace mission is an initiative of Eastern Equatoria state Security Council aimed at ensuring safety of the people and their property.
