Sudan and South Sudan Bishops Conference kicks off in Wau Catholic Diocese head of the Eucharistic Congress launching that is due to take place on the 26th November, 2023.
The event will be followed by the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Catholic Hierarchy.
The President of the Sudan and South Sudan Bishop Conference and Bishop of the El-obied Catholic Diocese, Tombe Trille opened the conference by welcoming all the bishops including his eminence Cardinal Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla and the Apostolic Nuncio of Kenya and South Sudan His Grace Bert Van Megan to the conference.
Bishop Tombe Trille mentions that this year’s plenary conference is blessed to have the Eucharistic congress launching together with the establishment of Catholic Hierarchy.
The Catholic Church leaders also praise Pope Francis for the elevation of His Grace Stephen Martin Mulla to the seat of Cardinalship.
The conference that started on the 20th of November 2023 is expected to be concluded on the 25th of November, 2023 in the Catholic Diocese of Wau.
The conference is held under the theme “One Body One Spirit in Christ.”
