The Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) held its 18th General Assembly Meeting om May 9 2011 in Juba, to discuss the future of the Council in both North and South Sudan after July 9.
SCC secretary general, Ramadan Chan, said the Assembly delegates aim at strategizing functions of the Council in the North and South after July 9, adding that the churches will contribute in addressing issues affecting the people.
Mr. Chan explained that the SCC would operate in both the North and the South, even after the official independence of South Sudan on July 9.
The meeting, which brings together all representatives from the SCC member churches across the country, will end on May 11 with recommendations.
