A radio presenter in Rumbek, the capital of Lakes State, is encouraging her sisters to enrol for the new school year that is starting today.

Good News Radio presenter Veronica Ajok Angok, who is sitting for the Sudan Secondary Certificate Examination, encouraged fellow girls to perform exemplary in their exams in order to encourage other girls to value education.

She appealed to girls to go to school instead of keeping themselves busy at home, adding that girls should not leave the professional field only to boys.

Ms. Ajok urged girls to be committed in education in order to have a better share of the Government cake and serve the community better.

The radio presenter said education is very important and girls should not depend on relatives all the time.

She called on girls not to stop at primary or secondary level but to join universities, colleges and technical training to be able to represent the women well in the Government.

Ms. Ajok said she hopes to pass her exams in order to go for further studies in Mass Communication to improve her skills in journalism.

She added the secret to success is to discover who you are, be disciplined at school and take advantage of the opportunity.

Ms. Ajok juggles with the duties of a mother, a wife, a student and a radio presenter and confesses that the road has not been smooth.
