SOUTHERN KORDOFAN ELECTION CAMPAIGNS TO KICK OFF SATURDAY

South Kordofan authorities announced that election campaigns for the governorship and state parliament kick off on April 2 and last for a month.

The head of the elections high committee Adam Abdin Ismaiel State told Voice of Love FM that there are 170 candidates for the elections, including five for governorship.

He added that most MP candidates belong to 14 political parties and 34 are independent.

Mr. Abdin urged the staff who are to monitor the elections to be neutral and honest.

On Monday, SPLM State Secretary Arnu Ngatulo said to Voice of Peace that his party filed 55 candidates: one for governor and the rest for MPs in constituency, party and women’s lists.

Mr. Arnu added that the SPLM has a civic education program teaching citizens how to vote correctly.

He added that Joint Integrated Units force should protect the poll boxes.

Mr. Arnu added that the SPLM runs its campaign for the South Kordofan elections for the elections under the banner Yes to Peace no to war.
