Eastern Equatoria SPLM office secretary general has handed in his resignation.

Governor Louis Lobong told the press yesterday immediately after the SPLM Liberation Council met in Torit that Celesio Ohisa resigned, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Mr. Lobong added that the Council appointed an acting secretary-general for the next three months.

The governor told the press that Mr. Ohisa would not be left redundant after he tirelessly worked for the success of the SPLM during elections and the referendum.

He says the party would find a suitable duty for the former SPLM secretary general.

Mr. Lobong added that the Liberation Council discussed a range of issues including security in its first meeting after the referendum.
