The defense minister in the government of national unity and the minister of SPLA Affairs reviewed the agreement of security cluster and proposed a definition of security zone along the north-south border.

Thabo Mbeki, the head of the African Union Panel on Sudan, told journalists today in Juba that the two ministers endorsed what has been agreed upon in terms of national security police and matters that need political guidance.

He also said the meeting discussed the definition of a security zone along the north-south border and UNMIS’s mandate after July 9.

The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Abdel Rahim Mohamed and SPLA Affairs minister Nhail Deng Nhail.
